Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Programs will act as a direct assistant to the Director, providing administrative and communications support at a senior level. You will be responsible for managing the center’s schedule of exhibitions and events, coordinating education programming, and marketing to both on-campus and external audiences. Additionally, you will lead the development program, including grant writing and donor relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the center’s schedule of exhibitions and events
- Coordinate education programming and marketing efforts
- Lead the development program, including grant writing and donor relationship management
- Provide administrative and communications support to the Director
- Handle sensitive and complex issues in a professional and objective manner
Requirements:
- B.A. in Art History, Museum Studies, Non-profit Management, or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of full-time experience working in a museum or art gallery
- Knowledge of collections management databases, cloud-based work management software, and Microsoft Suite
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing, exhibition management, and budgeting
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a close, collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s in Art History, Museum Studies, or related fields
- Knowledge of artwork and items in the Museum’s care, as well as museum theory and practices
