2. Degree(s) required and area of major is Business
3. Prior Business Experience
REPORTS TO: The District’s Business Administrator
JOB GOAL: To assist the Business Administrator in the business affairs of the district in such a way as to provide the best possible
educational services with the financial resources available
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist the Business Administrator in the following:
? Supervision and management of the financial affairs of the schools.
? Assumes the responsibility for budget development and long-range financial planning.
? Establishing and supervising a program of accounting adequate to record in detail all money and credit transactions.
? Supervising all accounting operations.
? Supervising the collection, safekeeping and distribution of all funds.
? Managing the district’s real estate and insurance programs.
? Supervising the district’s supporting services, through the directors of property services, transportation, purchasing, food services and business services.
? Developing a facility expansion program and supervises plan construction.
? Administering a budget control system for the district.
? Assisting the advisor to the superintendent on all questions relating to the business and financial affairs of the district.
? Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating all clerical, financial and support staff personnel.
? Arranging for the internal auditing of school accounts.
? Interpreting the financial concerns of the district to the community.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : As per current contractual agreement
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in
accordance with law and provisions of the Board’s policy of evaluation of Professional Personnel. Jersey City Public Schools
