We are seeking a passionate and experienced Auto Technology Teacher to join our team at Thomas McKean High School. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of future automotive professionals and contributing to the success of our students.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching concepts and skills in the automotive industry, including engine rebuilding, tune-ups, lubrication, ignition, and more. You will develop and implement effective lesson plans, safety policies, and classroom management strategies to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching automotive concepts and skills to secondary students
- Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Instructing and supervising students in the use of tools and technology
- Creating effective lesson plans and adapting to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Maintaining a clean and organized classroom and workshop
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence’s ASE Master Automobile Technician Certification
- Passing score on a Content Knowledge Exam (e.g., Praxis II, ACTFL)
- Satisfy additional licensure and certification requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of work experience in the automotive industry
