We are looking for a beta reader to provide feedback for contemporary romance manuscripts that range from 40K to 60K words.
The $5 budget is a placeholder.
Please let us know your fee to beta read:
– 40K manuscript
– 60K manuscript
We would like a turnaround time of 4 days for a 40K word manuscript and 7 days for a 60K manuscript. Due dates are not imposed. When the time comes for a project, we will mutually agree on a due date.
If you are interested in this project but would like a longer turnaround time, please propose turnaround times you can meet.
Feedback must be human-judged, i.e. not evaluated by an AI or tools like Autocrit.
If this project is successful for both of us, there will be more Beta-reading projects as well as Proofreading of the formatted eBook.
We’d like feedback on the following:
– Was the story engaging?
– Did you want to continue reading?
– Where did you lose attention?
– Are there any scenes, language, topics or dialogue that will upset an American reader?
– Are there any plot holes or leaps in logic? This includes local or cultural disconnects. The stories are set in the United States.
– How was the pacing?
Please share 2 samples of your beta reading work.
Requested capabilities and availability:
– You commit to meeting the due dates for each project as agreed when the milestone is created
– You are familiar with American culture and locales – the settings are in the United States and the majority readership is expected to be American.
– You agree to read the entire manuscript, will not outsource it or submit feedback from an AI-tool.
– You will give us your honest feedback in Microsoft Word .docx or Google Doc format.
