About the position As a Business Insurance Agent at USAA, you will play a crucial role in advising business owners on insurance and risk management. This mid-level position involves working in an inbound sales environment, utilizing a comprehensive suite of Commercial Insurance Products to tailor solutions to the unique risk profiles of members and non-members. You will engage in consultative selling, build relationships with clients and insurance carriers, and ensure compliance with insurance standards while providing exceptional service. Responsibilities Use a consultative approach to determine customer needs and provide tailored insurance solutions. , Build and maintain relationships with members, non-members, and insurance carriers. , Limit agency Errors & Omissions (E&O) exposure through proper documentation and compliance with insurance standards. , Classify businesses and provide accurate risk management solutions based on their profiles. , Facilitate account reviews and provide consultative advice based on risk profiles and carrier renewal cycles. , Research industry trends and regulatory changes to improve understanding of technical and financial issues. , Operate advanced Agency Management Systems/CRM to select appropriate products and carriers. , Partner with underwriters for endorsements, renewals, and remarketing decisions. , Calculate Insurance to Value (ITV) for various property types and ensure accurate replacement values. , Provide account service for policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations. , Facilitate the acquisition of business owners and affluent members by providing concierge-level service. , Work with underwriters on complex accounts for renewals and endorsements. , Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities. Requirements High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. , 2 years of insurance sales and service experience or experience in a commercial insurance or broker agency setting. , Valid Property and Casualty insurance license for home state or ability to obtain it within 90 days. , Experience with High Net Worth/Private Clients and handling sensitive information. , Excellent communication and customer service skills. Nice-to-haves 4 or more years of Commercial Lines Insurance account management experience writing new business. , 4 or more years of experience quoting and binding directly with the insured. , Experience with Agency Management Systems and/or Salesforce. , Experience in a multiple carrier environment. , Active P&C General Lines License for home state.
