Purpose of Job: English teacher certified in their content area who facilitates engaging projects and learning opportunities for students, collaborates with other staff members to support student achievement, and provides high-quality feedback on student work. Synchronous (Live through Zoom) online teaching from 7:30am-12:30pm or 12:30-5:30pm EST Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is required for this position, which will teach 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade English Language Arts classes. Qualifications: Must have a Michigan secondary (6-12) English Language Arts teaching certification (BA/BX preferred) and deemed highly-qualified or be able to obtain reciprocity using another state's certification and requirements within 45 days of hire. Location: 100% remote, must have a dedicated, quiet workspace with a reliable computer and internet connection. Company hours are based in the Eastern time zone. Special Knowledge/Skills: Understanding of multidisciplinary project-based learning Experience with engaging students in hands-on learning Skilled in interdisciplinary planning and collaboration Organized, reflective, participatory, and punctual Expertise with data-driven decision making to plan and improve instructional practices Experience in integrating technology into teaching (Zoom, Google, web-based games and apps, LMSes, etc.) Understanding and use of professional learning community interactions Major Responsibilities And Duties: Provide highly engaging online lessons, plan live lessons, grade student work using the pre-created project-based learning curriculum on the Centric LMS, and communicate with partner school staff, Centric staff, and students/families as needed. Pay: This full-time position is paid $15,000-$21,000 annually based on experience with single person benefit coverage after 90 days. Requirements: Must have a state of Michigan secondary (6-12) English Language Arts teaching certification (BA/BX preferred), or be able to obtain the certification as an out-of-state applicant within 45 days of starting.
