Chief Marketing Officer – Remote UK or US

Outseer is looking for an Industry expert that is motivated and strategic Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) who will be excited to join the company and help lead it through its next phase of growth.

The CMO will be responsible for aligning the marketing organization with the company’s overall strategic direction and executing operationally to achieve that marketing plan. The CMO will be a member of the executive leadership team and contribute broadly to the strategic and operational success of the company. S/he will develop a high performing team and ensure a bestin-class marketing organization.

Top priorities for the CMO will be to drive growth across install base and new logos while improving Outseer’s overall market positioning and presence.

This role oversees the entire marketing function with reliance on our Sr. Director of Revenue Operations for operation of our GTM tech stack (reporting to our CSO).

Outseer is looking for a hands-on leader, who will be adept at adjusting management altitude down to the ground as required, with full appreciation for the need to understand operations from the ground up in order to lead. The CMO will be successful through leading by example and inspiring transformational approaches to processes, driving predictable results and positioning Outseer for growth.

Key Responsibilities
• Global Marketing Strategy. Own and refine the company’s comprehensive marketing strategy to drive growth. Develop and execute segmentation strategies to penetrate identified markets and to retain and grow customers.
• Demand Generation. Define and drive effective lead generation activities across all media, especially digital, that resonate with the customer and fuel pipeline growth for the sales organization. Focus on the customer journey to produce not only leads into the pipeline, but also tracking of conversion rates and attribution through to revenue. Own Outseer presence at key industry events. Leverage marketing analytics and KPIs to assess campaign performance and ROI, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Product & Portfolio Marketing. Leverage relationships with internal subject matter experts, customers, partners, and influencers such as analysts, thought leaders, media, and industry associations to develop compelling product-related content for internal and external consumption. The primary focus will be on the production of compelling sales enablement materials with a secondary focus on external influencers.
• Communications & Brand. Refine the approach to the Outseer brand and operationalize the positioning. Drive the company’s external communications including public and media relations. Ensure an authentic and cohesive brand presence externally across all digital channels and within the organization.
• Marketing Operations. Establish a set of key performance indicators and provide consistent reporting against the marketing team’s objectives, especially as it relates to sales pipeline generation. Ensure marketing systems infrastructure, technology, and data provide the right insights to support consistent growth. Drive efficiency in the marketing efforts while also focusing on how to continually improve team and program productivity for future scalability. Manage the marketing budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Team Leadership. Attract, develop and retain strong talent. Continue to develop and structure a marketing team that efficiently executes the company’s overall and go-to-market strategy. Help create an inclusive, dynamic working environment that brings out the best in reporting managers and creates a clear path for staff growth both within marketing and across organizational lines. Mentor and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
• Cross Functional Collaboration. Be highly collaborative to leverage talent across the business. Participate with other executives in defining the company’s overall strategy. Ensure collaboration and partnership with sales and sales enablement, product management, finance and other functions to ensure a customer focused approach across all user interactions. The functionally interdependent nature of marketing elevates teamwork to critical success factor for this role.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will be a successful B2B tech marketing leader who has led global teams and scaled marketing capabilities in a results-driven company. This executive will bring broad marketing experience across the enterprise segment that includes multi-channel demand gen, product marketing, PR and brand. S/he will be highly skilled in prioritizing and managing marketing activities to drive ROI and able to translate trends and commercial insights into strong positioning and demand generation strategies.

This executive will be excited to join Outseer and tell the company’s story in a compelling manner. S/he should have a strong executive presence and the ability to connect with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including the other executive leaders, the Board of Directors, customers, partners, and analysts.

As a company leader, s/he must show good business judgment and be nimble in absorbing new information. S/He will have an extraordinary ability to help the team set and adjust priorities, rally the marketing team around key objectives and lead in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, ‘One Outseer’ environment.

Ideal Background
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years as a CMO or similar senior marketing role in a B2B tech environment with demonstrated success in a private equity sponsored or similar resource constrained environment focused on profitable growth.
• Marketing experience with B2B software solutions targeting the financial services segment, preferably including the anti-fraud and authentication space.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a high performing B2B demand generation engine that drives revenue growth.
• Track record of success leading all facets of marketing function.
