Copywriter/Editor – Travel Michigan (Communications Representative 9-P11)

About the position

Responsibilities
• Develop and draft key communications through website content and e-newsletters.
• Coordinate copywriting, editing, and content development for Travel Michigan.
• Work closely with the Marketing Content & Project Coordinator on writing projects for michigan.org.
• Functional development of landing pages and blog content on michigan.org.
• Implement SEO best practices in content creation.
• Manage website maintenance needs and extranet content management.
• Oversee ongoing website projects, including seasonal transitions and statewide initiatives.

Requirements
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field.
• No specific experience required for Communications Representative 9.
• One year of professional experience for Communications Representative 10.
• Two years of professional experience for Communications Representative P11, including one year equivalent to Communications Representative 10.
• Alternate education and experience options available.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience writing consumer-facing content.
• Familiarity with technology platforms for content management.
