We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customs Specialist to join our remote team. As a Customs Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant customs entries for cargo arriving and leaving through UK ports. You will work independently and as part of a team to verify data, identify errors, and provide excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: Complete and input customs entries via EDI systems for cargo arriving and leaving through UK ports Verify data with source documents, check for accuracy, and re-enter data in verification format to detect errors Provide excellent customer service and keep customers informed on entry completion and confirmation of VAT and duty costs Identify and raise any issues causing cargo to be delayed through customs clearance documentation errors Generate and complete VAT and Duty invoices for which the customer is liable Requirements: Previous experience in freight forwarding/customs Accuracy and attention to detail is crucial Excellent organisational skills Ability to work on your own initiative Excellent communication skills Flexibility and adaptability to constantly changing conditions CDS exposure and ability to submit declarations based on the new HMRC system Understanding of rules of origin and preference of goods Knowledge of governing customs and compliance regulations E-Customs Software knowledge is beneficial Efficient with Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint What We Offer: Competitive salary Flexible, remote, and hybrid working Generous annual leave Home equipment allowance Vitality private medical insurance Annual L&D budget Paid volunteering days Pension scheme Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave and pay About Us: Zencargo is a digital-first freight forwarder and logistics provider.
