The Role:
As a Data Innovation Architect, you will be a key contributor to our efforts in building and maintaining a centralized data lake, enabling advanced analytics, and driving data-driven decision-making across Apple. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and analytics, to understand their needs and translate them into scalable and reliable data pipelines. Your work will directly impact hundreds of millions of Apple users worldwide, making this a truly impactful role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Design & Development: Architect, design, and implement scalable and resilient data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from diverse sources, including cloud platforms, internal systems, and external partners.
- Data Lake Management: Contribute to the design and evolution of our central data lake, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility for analytical purposes.
- Cloud Architecture: Design and implement data solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, leveraging services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Data Modeling & Architecture: Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance for various analytical use cases.
- ETL & Data Integration: Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into target systems.
- Data Governance & Security: Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, communicate technical concepts, and drive data-driven solutions.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate new data technologies and tools to enhance our data capabilities.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering, with a demonstrated ability to design and implement data pipelines.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) and SQL.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
- Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and related data services.
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques (e.g., relational, dimensional, NoSQL).
- Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
