Electrical Designer

Electrical Designer will prepare complete design packages through AutoCAD that includes preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables.
Electrical Designer Responsibilities:
• Works closely with engineers in Global Engineering Services (GES) department to plan, organize, and control major projects daily.
• Handles multiple small to medium sized projects simultaneously.
• Works through direction by GES engineers to achieve goals.
• Perform drafting and detailing utilizing corporate design and drafting computer tools in areas of electrical design and machine design.
• Provide detailing of engineer concepts.
• Assist in designing new machines and processes.
• Improve safety of existing machines and processes.
• Participate and contribute to the improvement of the department’s design and drafting process.
• Maintains reference documents, technical work instructions and forms in the QMS system.
• Uses experience, knowledge, and creativity to recommend ideas for technology development.
• Support engineers in the management of global capital projects to meet time and budget commitments.
• Makes recommendations to project manager, corporate and plant management regarding appropriate goals for projects.
• Once project goals are established, acts under guidance of department manager and/or experienced engineering teammate to achieve those goals.
• Collaboration within GES is required with the mechanical, project and process engineering teams to make decisions regarding machine hardware and manufacturing processes.
• Teammate communicates with staff engineers, plant engineers, plant managers, directors and executive directors from North America, Asia, South America, Australia, Africa, and Europe on a regular basis.
• Prepare complete electrical design packages which may include, but not be limited to, preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables.
• Develop or assist in the development of control circuits for instrument components, logic controllers, and relays.
• Check detailed sketches and drawings for project applicability and optimal construction.
• Revise lists, drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.
• Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of sources.
• Ensure accuracy of completed drawings before final release and verify drawings meet company and industry standards.
• Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings as needed.
• Utilize engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in the designing, detailing, documenting, and verifying of instrument parts, subassemblies, assemblies or system configurations.
• Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.
Electrical Designer Requirements:
• Associate Degree in Drafting Design Technology or equivalent experience/degree is preferred.
• 5+ years related drafting experience required.
• 3-4+ years’ experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
