We are seeking experienced and passionate online novel study tutors to join our team of educators. As a part-time remote tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with intermediate to advanced level students, guiding them through their academic journey and helping them achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities
As an online novel study tutor with SCI, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality online lessons to intermediate to advanced level students via the Classin App
- Creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to participate and learn
- Developing and implementing lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of individual students
- Providing constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their language skills
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, and management to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience
- Participating in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications and requirements:
- Be an English native speaker from the US or Canada
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree (with at least 2 years online tutoring experience)
- Have at least three hours per week available to start
- Be familiar with the Classin App and have experience teaching online
- Be patient, enthusiastic, and willing to be trained and follow management’s policy
- Have a Skype ID and be willing to communicate via Skype
- Be able to create a 1-3 minute short introduction video to send to Skype before the demo class
Preferred Qualifications
While the above qualifications and requirements are essential, we also welcome applications from candidates with the following preferred qualifications:
- Experience teaching English as a second language (ESL) or English as a foreign language (EFL)
- Experience working with students of different ages and levels
- Experience using online learning platforms and tools
- Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
- Experience with classroom management and discipline
