As a Hybrid Social Worker, you will play a vital role in driving student success, providing preventive work, consultation, and support to students, staff, and families. Friendship Public Charter School operates a thriving network of college preparatory public charter schools, serving over 4,800 students in preschool to grade 12. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide preventive work with students, staff, and families, including consultation, home visits, and community engagements
  • Conduct social work evaluations and related assessments for initial evaluations and re-evaluations
  • Provide related services as prescribed by Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including social skills, life skills, and transitional skills
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, IEP meetings, manifestation determination meetings, and other related meetings
  • Collaborate with the Student Support Team (SST) to develop plans of assistance for students at risk of academic and/or behavioral difficulty
  • Coordinate school and community services, serving as a home-school-community liaison responsible for effective resource utilization and positive relations with stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of social work with a minimum of 60 graduate semester hours
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the District of Columbia
  • District of Columbia Certification as a School Social Worker
  • At least two years of work experience as a Social Worker in an urban school/setting with a track record of high student achievement
  • Understanding of child development, psychopathology, social and environmental conditioning, cultural diversity, and family systems
