Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant/Associate Professor to join our School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences at Auburn University. As an aquaculture production specialist, you will play a key role in advancing our research and instructional programs in aquaculture production. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with a focus on research (80%) and instruction (20%).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct research programs in aquaculture production, with a focus on attracting extramural funding and publishing research findings
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in aquaculture production and related areas
- Mentor graduate students and provide academic advising to undergraduate students
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to develop and implement research programs
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including students, faculty, and industry stakeholders
Requirements:
- Earned Ph.D. in aquaculture, engineering, or related field at the time of employment
- Publication record in aquaculture production research
- Potential to attract extramural funding
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postdoctoral training
- Research area that complements existing School faculty
- Experience mentoring graduate students
