About the Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engaged Health Equity Research Professional to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will play a vital role in supporting community-based participatory research projects focused on health equity, with a particular emphasis on dementia and aging among minoritized racial and ethnic groups. This exciting opportunity will allow you to translate research findings into actionable programs and policies while engaging with community organizations as research partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement study activities, exercising independent initiative and judgment
- Facilitate meetings, coordinate logistics, and set agendas for various Advisory Boards
- Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques
- Contribute to qualitative data analysis and synthesis, and co-author sections of research publications and regulatory reports as needed
- Attend community meetings and events to support health equity work and serve as a liaison between projects and community partners
- Supervise staff or students, providing oversight and instruction on techniques
- Complete project-related administrative and budgetary responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a social science-related field (e.g., sociology, psychology, public health) and 2 years of applicable experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Comprehensive understanding of scientific theory and methods
- Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment
- Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with human study participants
Nice-to-Haves:
- Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), Social Science, or a related field
- Experience with community-based research and public health programs
- Fluency in Spanish
- Qualitative research methods and facilitation experience
