Join Our Team: Specialty Instructor – Pickleball

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Specialty Instructor to teach Pickleball classes at the Forest Lake YMCA. As a key member of our aquatics, sports, and fitness programs team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our members and program participants. Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-quality Pickleball classes, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for participants of all ages
  • Plan and instruct progressive classes, observing and discussing individual progress with participants and motivating them to achieve their wellness goals
  • Set up and take down class equipment, reporting any equipment problems and ensuring a safe and effective class environment
  • Respond to and report any accidents or incidents, demonstrating the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Work closely with other YMCA team members and program participants, using participant names and encouraging member interaction whenever possible

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Formal training in Pickleball instruction or a related field
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Demonstrated customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to individually lead a class and motivate participants
  • Physical ability to stand for majority of work shift, stretch, bend, and lift up to 50lbs, and move heavy equipment on a daily basis
