Math and Science Tutor – Educational Support Personnel Level III (Part-Time)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Math and Science Tutor to join our team at Deerfield High School in Illinois. As a Math and Science Tutor, you will provide academic support to students in a walk-in tutoring center, assisting with math and science reasoning in all curricular areas. This is a part-time, hourly position that requires excellent communication, technological, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one tutoring in math and science to students in a walk-in tutoring center
  • Participate in recruitment and training of student tutors
  • Attend Institute Days, workshops, and continuing education in subject areas
  • Assist with administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • 60 hours of college credit or a Bachelor’s degree
  • ISBE licensure required (Para Professional License, Substitute License, or Professional Educator License)
  • Professional Educator License with mathematics and/or science endorsement preferred
  • Experience in a school setting preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Part-time, hourly position
  • Schedule: 1:55pm-4:15pm on Mondays, 3:10pm-4:15pm on Tuesdays, 1:10pm-4:15pm on Wednesdays, 1:10pm-4:15pm on Thursdays, and 1:10pm-3:15pm on Fridays
  • Starting pay: $18.50 per hour
