Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Medical Imaging Supervisor, the Medical Imaging Transcriptionist must transcribe and edit dictated reports for Medical Imaging. Ensures accurate, appropriate reports while identifying and correcting discrepancies.

Core Job Responsibilities

Knowledge and application of Medical Transcription Guidelines and practices

Able to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles

Seeks and obtains clarification of terms and phrases to ensure absolute accuracy

Knowledge of anatomy

Applies anatomical knowledge to identify possible report incongruities

Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED:

Associates degree or equivalent in work experience and a course of Medical Terminology

1 year experience transcribing /editing a variety of medical reports

Licensure/Certification Requirements
