MTS 2, Software Engineer

About the position

Responsibilities
• Develop and improve high-quality risk infrastructural systems around risk data.
• Review the current system’s architecture and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the technical team to design new modules or enhancements.
• Write and test code for new modules or enhancements.
• Conduct system testing and bug fixing.
• Oversee the deployment of enhanced systems into production.
• Build solutions to collect and analyze eBay transactional and behavioral data.
• Identify patterns and insights for improved risk management.
• Integrate strategies into risk management systems.
• Meet with stakeholders to understand software requirements.
• Analyze requirements to design system blueprints.
• Share designs with the team and incorporate feedback.
• Finalize system architecture and obtain stakeholder approval.
• Document design and processes for future reference.

Requirements
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Three years of experience in software engineering or a related occupation.
• Experience designing systems that can process billions of requests in low latency (3 years).
• Experience using advanced features of Java and threads, understanding garbage collection, and designing using Object Oriented concepts and design patterns (3 years).
• Experience with trades-offs between various databases, including relational and No-SQL (3 years).
• Experience using Kafka producers and varied types of Kafka consumers (3 years).
• Experience running Hadoop map reduce queries for analytics (3 years).
• Experience running Spark queries in an optimized fashion (3 years).
• Experience building UI tools using React (3 years).
• Experience in Javascript (3 years).
• Experience implementing large distributed systems over microservices (3 years).
• Experience in architecture and implementation of rules engines (3 years).
• Experience extracting and modeling metadata (3 years).
• Experience writing Shell Scripts for automation (2 years).

• Base salary range of $184,662-234,850 per annum.
