Job Summary
The Office Assistant (OA) performs foundational duties in the Writing Center, assisting the Writing Center Coordinator with critical tasks, and providing exceptional customer service to students. Responsibilities include:
- Forwarding phone calls and taking messages from faculty and staff as needed
- Opening and closing the Writing Center and DELC
- Helping students schedule tutoring sessions and log in at the front desk
- Serving as a liaison between tutors and students
- Organizing and updating online and printed forms
- Providing general office support
Requirements
- Must be a current WSU student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrated writing proficiency
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in word processing, internet, and emailing
- Ability to work in an office environment and perform tasks with attention to detail
