We are seeking a part-time Program Manager to take ownership of two of our most demanding and strategic accounts. This is a remote 1099 contractor role with flexible hours, focused on managing project flow, customer communication, and compliance with extensive contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
• Review contracts and purchase orders to capture and track all customer requirements.
• Manage RFQs, prepare quotes, and follow up with customers on pricing and lead times.
• Coordinate purchasing of raw materials and outside services to align with job schedules.
• Create and manage project routes and ensure timely handoff between departments.
• Track progress of jobs through manufacturing and ensure all deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Organize and submit documentation packages, including certifications, inspection data, and other submittals required by the customer.
• Maintain drawing control and ensure all revisions and specifications are properly documented and distributed.
• Collaborate with our internal Manufacturing Engineer, Office Manager, and President to execute jobs and resolve any issues.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a defense/aerospace or precision machining environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, especially CNC machining.
• Deep familiarity with handling complex contracts, compliance documents, and submittals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and PDF software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
• Self-starter who is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing programs for government or defense contractors.
• Familiarity with DFAR/FAR requirements, ITAR compliance, and quality systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100).
• Prior experience working with firms involved with the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program or similar is a major plus.
