Psychiatric Nurse (APRN) REMOTE

About the Position

The chosen candidate for this position will serve as a community-oriented Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and actively collaborate within an interdisciplinary outpatient team. At our facility, we are committed to promoting recovery and adhering to the highest standards of mental health service delivery. The registered nurse will play a vital role in closely collaborating with the treatment team to develop and implement comprehensive, recovery-focused treatment plans.

Position Details:
• 1099 Contract (No benefits provided)
• Morning Shift, Day Shift
• 2 days a week

Required Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducts diagnostic psychiatric evaluations to assess and diagnose mental health conditions.
• Provides ongoing psychiatric management, including psychopharmacologic treatment and appropriate forms of psychotherapeutic support.
• Collaborates with the treatment team to offer crisis intervention as needed.
• Ensures comprehensive healthcare needs are identified and treated, while educating individuals about their illness and providing health management information and techniques.
• Engages in team consultations and clinical supervision, actively participating in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
• Documents clinical care in the electronic clinical record.
• Serves as backup physician/nurse practitioner coverage when needed for facility outpatient services.

Required Skills:
• Assessment and Evaluation – Skilled in conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including evaluating mental health status, risk assessment, and identifying potential psychiatric disorders or symptoms.
• Medication Administration and Management – Knowledge of psychotropic medications, their indications, side effects, and proper administration. Ability to monitor medication effectiveness and manage medication-related issues.
• Crisis Intervention – Ability to assess and manage psychiatric emergencies and crises, including de-escalation techniques, suicide risk assessment, and implementation of appropriate interventions.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration – Capacity to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, case managers, and occupational therapists, to develop holistic treatment plans.
• Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information; develops effective solutions; applies logic and reasoning to decision-making.
• Oral Communication – Communicates clearly and persuasively; actively listens and seeks clarification when needed; provides accurate responses to patient questions and concerns; demonstrates effective presentation skills; actively participates in meetings.
• Written Communication – Writes with clarity and conciseness; adapts writing style to meet specific needs; proficient in reading and interpreting written information.
• Quality – Demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness; actively seeks ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback constructively to enhance performance.
• Safety and Security – Adheres to safety and security procedures; promptly reports for potentially unsafe conditions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

To be eligible as a Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN) at Serving Children and Reaching Families, LLC, applicant must meet the following minimum criteria:
• Minimum: M.D. from an accredited Medical school and graduation from an Accredited Residency Program in Psychiatry OR, Master of Science in Nursing, APRN certification as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
• Board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry (preferred)
• Experience in an outpatient community setting working extensively with patients experiencing mental illness and substance abuse
• Multidisciplinary team experience
• Must be licensed (or licensable) to practice medicine in the State of Florida and be eligible to take examination of the American Board of Psychiatry and must have a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license.

Additional Information:
• Applicant must successfully pass all Pre-Employment Screenings including but not limited to a Federal II Background check, a Local Background check, a Pre-Employment Drug Screening, and applicable licenses and insurances;
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Insurance and Registration;
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) or French-Creole a bonus!
