Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our Operations Research and Analytics (OR&AA) team at American Airlines. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and improvement through data-driven insights and analysis. This is a remote opportunity based in Colorado, offering a competitive salary of $35/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and frame analytics problems
- Acquire, manipulate, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from various sources
- Build and validate statistical and machine learning models using predictive analytics and AI techniques
- Design, develop, and deploy AI models within a ML Operations framework
Requirements:
- Master’s/PhD degree or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline
- Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Java)
- Practical experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis
- In-depth knowledge of statistical and machine learning procedures
- Experience with SQL and data visualization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, recommender systems, and experimentation (e.g., A/B testing)
- Knowledge of the airline industry
- Experience working in a consulting role
Skills:
- Proven ability for logical analysis, problem identification, and problem-solving
- Ability to view data from different perspectives and utilize feature engineering techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a diverse team or work with a range of stakeholders
