About the position The Research Manager will oversee a team of research analysts, focusing on hiring, training, and mentoring staff. This role involves translating clinical needs into analytic questions, conducting rigorous analyses of health-related data, and presenting findings to support HCA faculty and residents. The position is remote but requires occasional travel to the Brentwood, TN office for meetings. Responsibilities Oversee, mentor, and train a team of data analysts. , Contribute to the development of training, tools, and process documentation. , Construct and manipulate large electronic claims datasets. , Develop study designs and analytic solutions based on available data sources. , Manage multiple projects related to various business settings and clinical needs. , Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather and analyze needs and requirements. , Present data or analytic findings in various formats (reports, PPT, graphs, figures, and tables). , Consult on and provide direct technical support for complex research projects. , Develop and maintain knowledge of terminologies and coding procedures used in research and healthcare. , Perform data analyst functions that generate knowledge via data mining, visualization, or other analytics. Requirements Bachelor's Degree and 5 years related experience required. , Master's Degree from an accredited program in a research-related field preferred. , Experience in a health services research environment. , Experience with large healthcare datasets, including electronic health records and Medicare claims. Nice-to-haves Experience in staff management. , Knowledge of programming languages such as SAS.
