Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical scheduling and administrative support, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding. This role is essential for ensuring efficient patient flow and maintaining accurate records within our facility. The Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating appointments, managing patient information, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
• Schedule patient appointments efficiently while considering provider availability and patient needs
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and medical records
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, follow-up care, and any necessary documentation
• Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
• Assist with clerical duties such as filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications
• Provide bilingual support to enhance patient communication when necessary
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination
• Post job openings and source qualified candidates
• Review applications and screen candidates
• Schedule and conduct interviews
• Collaborate with management to make hiring decisions
• Manage onboarding process for new hires
• Keep recruitment records organized and up to date
Requirements
• Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred
• Familiarity with medical billing, coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT), and terminology is essential
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in EHR systems; experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are required
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial for maintaining accurate records
