Join Our Team of Innovators: Shape the Future of Information Literacy and Scholarly Publishing We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scholarly Communications, Research, and Instruction Librarian to join our dynamic team at Quinnipiac University. As a key member of our library team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering information literacy instruction, research support, and programming related to scholarly publishing, with a focus on emerging technologies and innovative pedagogies.
In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with faculty and students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, providing outreach and education on scholarly digital publishing issues, including Open Education Resources, Open Access Publishing, and citation metrics. You will also contribute to the design and assessment of our instructional design efforts and multimodal activities, ensuring that our library services meet the evolving needs of our students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver information literacy instruction, research support, and programming related to scholarly publishing
- Provide outreach and education on scholarly digital publishing issues, including Open Education Resources, Open Access Publishing, and citation metrics
- Collaborate with faculty and students in the STEM disciplines to promote awareness, adoption, and support for Open Education Resources and Open Access Publishing
- Design and conduct assessment of library instructional activities and programs, incorporating new technologies and innovative pedagogies
- Participate in the development and assessment of innovative digital projects, such as virtual library exhibitions
- Support the library and university’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (DEI)
Requirements:
- Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution
- 2-3 years of experience in information literacy or e-learning approaches, with a working knowledge of online pedagogies
- Demonstrated teaching skills and an understanding of trends in information literacy instruction and instructional technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience with emerging technologies for access to information resources
- Strong public service orientation, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion
