About UltraPrecise Bookkeeping

UltraPrecise Bookkeeping is a boutique virtual firm serving nonprofits, law firms, and small businesses with full-service bookkeeping, virtual controller, and CFO advisory services. We’re a team of professionals who love clean books, efficient processes, and clients who value precision. Our mission is simple: deliver impeccable, personalized financials while building long-term, trusted partnerships.

We offer an alternative to corporate accounting environments, no micromanagement, no bureaucracy, and no grind. Just meaningful work with a collaborative team that values autonomy, excellence, and mutual growth.

Position Summary

We are seeking a well-rounded accounting professional—a Senior Bookkeeper & Quality Control Specialist who brings the depth of a Sr. Accountant but thrives in a boutique, client-facing environment.

This role requires more than just transactional bookkeeping: you’ll manage full-cycle accounting on an accrual basis, apply GAAP standards, split costs appropriately between COGS and operating expenses, and ensure nonprofit clients are audit-ready. You’ll oversee a client portfolio, lead the monthly close, conduct QC reviews, mentor junior staff, and meet directly with clients to present clean, accurate financials.

If you know how to handle accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and payroll allocations and you can explain them clearly to both clients and auditors- you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting & Client Management
• Manage a portfolio of client accounts across multiple industries, with a strong emphasis on nonprofit organizations
• Post and code transactions using Dext, Bill.com, and QBO, ensuring proper accrual-based categorization
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, including AR, AP, loans, prepaids, fixed assets, and accrued liabilities
• Process and allocate payrolls, benefits, and payroll accrualsPrepare accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Statement of Activities for nonprofits)
• Lead financial review meetings with clients via Zoom and provide advisory insights

Quality Control & Oversight
• Review work completed by junior bookkeepers for accuracy and completeness
• Identify and resolve errors before escalation
• Maintain and refine QC checklists, reports, and internal documentation
• Guide cleanups, onboarding processes, and long-term account health

Team Collaboration & Process Improvement
• Mentor junior staff and share expertise in GAAP and nonprofit accounting
• Contribute to SOPs, workflow documentation, and training resources
• Recommend and implement process improvements and efficiencies

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications
• 10+ years of full-service accounting/bookkeeping experience
• 2+ years with QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor certification required)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting (must know how to handle accruals, prepaids, deferrals—not just say you do)
• Experience supporting nonprofits, including audit prep and fund accounting
• Confident communicator able to manage client relationships directly
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
• U.S. residency and ability to work EST hours

Bonus Points For Experience With:
• Tools: Dext, Keeper, Karbon, Notion, Bill.com, Asana, Ignition, LastPass
• Preparing 1099s, sales tax filings, quarterly payroll returns
• Cleanup projects and QBO setup

What We Offer
• Secure, long-term W2 employment
• 100% remote working within 8 am to 6 pm EST
• Supportive, collaborative team culture with growth opportunities
• No micromanagement, just accountability and respect
• High-impact work with mission-driven clients
• Opportunity to step into virtual CFO/advisory work over time

Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Employment Type: Full-Time, W2
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts during regular Eastern Time business hours
