Workwarp is seeking a talented Senior Data Architect & Business Intelligence Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and accessible data pipelines that empower data-driven insights and strategic decision-making for our business and enterprise clients.

Your primary objective will be to provide our clients with robust data frameworks and actionable intelligence, enabling them to optimize their user experiences and achieve their business goals. This involves leveraging large and complex data sources, extracting quantifiable insights, and visualizing data through compelling dashboards.

Working closely with the Head of Wallet Payments and Business Intelligence Architecture & BI, you will partner with diverse data analysts, instrumentation engineers, and engineering teams to identify and define requirements for data pipeline development. You will collaborate closely with the application server engineering team to understand the architectural landscape and internal APIs related to ongoing and upcoming projects involving Apple Pay. We are looking for a highly skilled individual who can play a key role in empowering our clients and internal teams to make informed decisions based on data and analytics.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong aptitude for data handling, the ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities, and a proven track record of delivering effective solutions with limited guidance. A strong understanding of data governance principles and a proactive approach to data quality are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements from stakeholders into detailed data and architectural specifications.
  • Design and build scalable data warehouses based on architectural specifications, leveraging both structured and unstructured data from various sources.
  • Understand and instrument server APIs required for data analysis, adapting server events for integration into existing data pipelines.
  • Investigate and understand complex datasets, identify and design correlations between heterogeneous data sources for effective analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity and identify anomalies through data validation rules and alerts.
  • Develop Python and Shell scripts for data ingestion from external data sources to generate business insights.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in Big Data systems, data pipelines, and data processing.
  • Strong experience with technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Pig, Apache Hive, Apache Sqoop, and Apache Flash.
  • Ability to interpret API specifications, identify key API calls, extract data, and implement data pipelines using SQL-compatible data structures.
  • Deep understanding of data governance principles and experience implementing data quality checks and anomaly detection.
  • Experience with various distributed data formats like Apache Avro, Apache Parquet, and common data transformation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python, Unix Shell scripting, and Reliance-driven schedulers.
  • Solid understanding of Core Java, Spark, Teradata, and ANSI SQL.
  • Experience with rule-based tools and APIs for multi-platform data integration on large datasets is highly desirable.
