Key Responsibilities Conduct unconditional exploratory data analysis to identify novel ideas and opportunities for improving product recommendations Design and execute A/B tests of new recommendation algorithms and strategies to measure their effectiveness Proactively monitor recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine root causes, and resolve problems Develop new tools and processes that enable the team to be more efficient and productive Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product, engineering, and machine learning teams, to drive business outcomes Communicate key insights and recommendations to senior leaders across the organization, driving data-driven decision-making Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics Strong analysis or data science experience in an e-commerce environment, with a proven track record of driving business outcomes through data-driven insights Proficiency in SQL, with expertise in query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, and Vertica/Hive/Voila/Flash Proficiency in Python and Python tools, such as Jupyter notebook, pandas, sklearn, and matplotlib Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to working with stakeholders A demonstrated history of taking ownership and driving outcomes, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decision-making Knowledge and experience using machine learning algorithms/techniques (decision trees, random forest, deep learning, etc.) in a business setting Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and technical capabilities, combined with problem-solving skills What We Offer As a part-time Senior Data Science Analyst at Wayfair, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
