Job Overview:
We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to lead our Operational Risk Management team, driving the development and implementation of effective risk management programs that align with regulatory requirements and best practices. As a key member of our Global Risk & Compliance Organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring American Express operates in a safe, sound, and fully compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, oversee, and strengthen our Operational Risk Management framework, ensuring governance structures, policies, and procedures are robust and effective
- Support day-to-day internal and external exam management processes, working across enterprise functions to track resolution of requests and escalate significant risks and issues in a timely manner
- Partner with Operational Risk Management teams to advise on responses to exam and audit inquiries, and develop systems and processes to ensure consistent and efficient exam responses across the business unit
- Review and enforce compliance with enterprise policies, and help prepare and present materials to Operational Risk Management leadership and the Operational Risk Management Committee regarding audit and regulatory initiatives

A competitive salary range of $90,000 to $165,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits, including:

Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years in a financial risk management function (e.g., audit, compliance, operations, credit, etc.)
- Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of developing end-to-end risk management processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
