Job Summary:
Join our team at Michigan Virtual Charter Academy (MVCA), a Stride K12 partner school, as a Special Education Teacher. We are committed to providing an exceptional online education experience for students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized instruction, support, and guidance to students in an online environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide high-quality online instruction, support, and guidance to students
- Communicate with parents, related service staff, and other educators to ensure students receive necessary services
- Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress towards IEP goals and objectives
- Make modifications and accommodations to Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with families and communicate regularly with students, parents, and learning coaches
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Active State Special Education teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Endorsement in Special Education
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
