Introduction to the Role

The Strategic Initiatives Manager is a key position within our organization, responsible for driving the development, execution, and oversight of strategic projects and initiatives that align with our long-term goals. As a member of our Strategic Initiatives & Impact department, you’ll work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to advance our organization’s effectiveness and impact. This dynamic role requires a versatile professional with broad skills in project management, process improvement, change management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Strategic Initiatives Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine strategic initiatives, translate high-level strategies into actionable projects, and monitor progress against organizational goals.
  • Project Management: Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of complex projects across departments, develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with national, state, and community-level partners, industry leaders, and key external stakeholders, represent the organization at public events, and engage with internal and external audiences to ensure stakeholder needs and feedback are integrated into project planning and decision-making.
  • Organizational Effectiveness & Impact: Contribute to the development of organizational KPIs, track progress against Foundation objectives, stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, and serve as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Affairs, Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, strategy, development, or community and stakeholder relations.
  • Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, and proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Affairs, Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Project management certifications, such as PMP or Agile.
  • Industry Experience: Experience working in the non-profit or healthcare industry.
