Virtual Group Facilitator – Teen Mental Health IOP

Kin Therapy is working on improving teen mental health care through innovative virtual Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs). We’re addressing the teen mental health crisis with accessible, tech-forward solutions that meet young people where they are. Our virtual IOP integrates live therapy, peer connections, and tech-enhanced support to create meaningful outcomes for teens and families.

Job Summary: We’re seeking a dynamic Group Facilitator to support our virtual teen IOP sessions. You’ll be the bridge between technology and human connection – managing virtual group dynamics, keeping teens engaged, and ensuring everyone feels included and safe. Think of yourself as part tech support, part cheerleader, part emotional safety net for teens navigating mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate virtual group sessions including ice-breakers, mindfulness activities, polls, and breakout rooms
• Moderate chat and video participation to maintain engagement
• Track real-time attendance and follow up with absent participants within 5 minutes
• Document session notes using electronic health record templates
• Lead weekly psycho-educational micro-lessons under supervision
• Execute safety protocols and crisis response workflows
• Support therapists in creating an authentic, supportive virtual environment

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field
• Currently pursuing graduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Education
• Minimum 1 year direct experience working with adolescents (school support, residential aide, camp counseling, crisis support, etc.)
• Proficient with Zoom, Google Workspace, Slack, and digital whiteboard applications
• Reliable high-speed internet connection
• Work authorization in the United States
• Florida CBHT certification (or willingness to obtain) OR Registered Mental Health Counselor/Social Work/MFT Intern status

Schedule Details:
• Core hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:30-7:30 PM EST (required)
• Additional hours available for team meetings and administrative tasks

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week

Work Location: Remote
