Wayfair is seeking an experienced executive to lead our store development function and manage the growth of our physical retail portfolio. With four stores already open, Wayfair is building a physical retail platform for Wayfair & Specialty retail brands that will be your offline home destination. We believe there is a void in the physical marketplace and an opportunity to create a differentiated retail experience that showcases the breadth and depth of our catalog. As we lead into the next phase of physical retail expansion, Wayfair is seeking a Store Development Manager to support the continued growth of our physical retail initiative. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will oversee some or all of the key operations in store development (real estate, construction, and design) and: Ownership: Leads the team and manages brick-and-mortar launches across multiple brands on topics such as timing and location of store expansions, partnerships between owners and developers, facility leasing, customer-facing data &; market analysis, etc. Market Development & position selection, position identification, and due diligence strategies, including data-driven evaluation and comparison processes; Lead innovation in site selection processes and tools. Creation and maintenance of a real estate portfolio that ensures current short and long-term development opportunities for the branch portfolio. Manage the negotiation and execution of all commercial real estate transactions including development contracts, leases, renovations, extensions, subleases, and other types of transactions. Work with agents, owners, and developers to execute Wayfair's retail strategy. Construction: Supervision of all works related to the construction and reconstruction of the store. Act as the primary liaison with all internal and external stakeholders, including retail teams, Wayfair management, architects, contractors, stockists, and external project managers. Adhere to project deadlines and budgets. Improvements implemented in the construction process to increase profitability and optimize new store openings.
