About the position This experienced-level role focuses on providing insurance carrier placement guidance and service to the field while managing a profitable book of business. The position emphasizes maintaining strong relationships with field agents and partners to ensure smooth brokerage operations and high-quality customer service. Responsibilities Provide expertise to facilitate the placement of accounts with admitted and non-admitted carrier partners/brokers. , Consult on a broad variety of commercial and personal lines coverages. , Oversee a book of business within a geographic territory. , Analyze submissions and make decisions based on individual risk characteristics, exposure analysis, and hazard recognition. , Accept, decline, or modify new and renewal business based on insurance company authority levels. , Utilize underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance with authority levels and state regulations. , Review and analyze relevant underwriting information for risks including applications, inspections, and loss history. , Price business according to insurance company underwriting and pricing guidelines. , Handle new and renewal placement processes including rating, negotiating, and preparing presentation materials. , Work with internal staff or carriers to resolve questions and issues related to applications or policies. , Assist agents and staff with carrier information and general processes and procedures. , Maintain positive relationships with brokerage and alliance companies to uphold high customer service standards. Requirements Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service. , Proficiency in using PC software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Excel). , Experience in account management/insurance placement for commercial and specialty personal lines products. , Solid knowledge and application of underwriting concepts and servicing for excess/surplus coverages. , Understanding of brokerage customer service, carrier placement, and policy processing processes. , Experience using reference materials, reading policy language, and processing rules and procedures. , Understanding of carrier appetites and market conditions. , Experience consulting with agents. , Strong written and verbal communication skills. , Proof of successful completion of the AD Banker On-Line Pre-Licensing Course for unlicensed candidates.
