Youth Advocate with the Liberty Partnerships Program

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Youth Advocate to join our Liberty Partnerships Program team at SUNY Cobleskill. As a Youth Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students in grades 6-12, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver services in academics, social and emotional development, life skills, goal setting, mentoring, leadership, and college and career readiness
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students during the school day
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff
  • Assist with homework and test prep, and provide tutoring as needed
  • Chaperone field trips and participate in occasional evening or weekend activities
  • Maintain accurate records and submit data in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with program staff and school personnel to ensure seamless delivery of services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of work experience with adolescents
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and dependability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with ability to maintain confidentiality
