We’re seeking a skilled Scrum Master to facilitate Agile delivery for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program. As a remote team member, you’ll serve as a team facilitator, ensuring Agile principles and best practices are followed to drive team performance, stakeholder collaboration, and incremental delivery of high-value solutions.
Position Overview:
In this role, you’ll bring hands-on experience in Scrum and Kanban methodologies, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to guide Agile teams in a mission-focused federal environment. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality solutions and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure team progress and alignment.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize and refine product backlogs, ensuring they are well-defined, actionable, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
- Remove impediments to team progress, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and supporting the team in achieving their goals.
- Track and analyze Agile metrics, such as velocity, burn-down, and team performance, to inform reporting and stakeholder transparency.
- Coach team members and stakeholders in Agile values, principles, and practices, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Support user story development, acceptance criteria, and refinement sessions to ensure high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize Agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence, to facilitate backlog management, documentation, and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
- 7+ years of experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and removing blockers for Agile teams.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Scrum, Kanban, and familiarity with SAFe.
- Proficiency in Agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to support Agile delivery teams in a hybrid/distributed work environment.
- Prior experience on federal or DHS-related IT projects strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Scrum certifications, such as A-CSM, CSP, or equivalent.
- Experience with Lean or other Agile scaling frameworks (e.g., LeSS, SAFe).
- Background in software development or technical project delivery environments.
- Experience supporting Agile transformation initiatives in large government or enterprise settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
