As a Collections Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the timely collection of funds owed to the company, resolving customer billing issues, and contributing to our strong cash flow. Key Responsibilities: Manage a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts, conducting phone calls and correspondence to collect delinquent balances. Investigate and resolve disputed or unauthorized customer deductions. Provide exceptional customer service while addressing collection inquiries and ensuring payment of past-due balances. Monitor the order release queue and proactively address any delays. Prepare and analyze monthly reports, participating in aging meetings to review portfolio status. Prepare final demand letters and negotiate payment plans with customers. Coordinate account placement with third-party collection agencies as needed. Generate monthly customer account statements. Process accounts receivable transactions, including debits, credits, and payments. Support internal and external audit requests. Maintain the integrity of customer accounts and ensure accurate reporting. Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable and collections (preferred). Self-starter with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Experience with SAP or mainframe systems (preferred). Basic understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements (preferred). Experience in the consumer products industry (preferred). Experience in a shared service environment (preferred).
