Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to join our team as an Evening Study Center Teacher for our Adult ESL program. As a teacher with Garland Independent School District, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of adult learners in our community. This is a part-time position with supplemental pay available, and we are looking for internal candidates only. Key Responsibilities: Teach Adult ESL classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings from August to March Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of adult learners Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness Requirements: Certified teacher with three (3) or more years of teaching experience Bilingual certification or ESL Endorsement Prior experience teaching English to speakers of other languages Knowledge of principles for adult learning and instructional best practices for online learning Flexible teaching style, open-minded, patient, and encouraging instructor Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with others in a virtual or face-to-face environment Strong technological skills Work Details: Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Location: Remote Compensation: $20/hour for training and $30/hour for teaching Available to current GISD employees only How to Apply: If you are a motivated and experienced teacher looking to make a difference in the lives of adult learners, please submit your application, including a cover letter, detailed resume, and relevant certifications and transcripts.
