As a Teaching Assistant in Conservation Biology, you will play a vital role in supporting the instructor and students in the ESS 5630 Conservation Biology class. Your responsibilities will include attending online class sessions, providing support to small groups of students during in-class labs, and offering tutoring and guidance outside of class. You will also assist with grading assignments, researching current Conservation Biology topics, and preparing for class.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend online class sessions and provide support to students during in-class labs (3 hours/week)
- Offer tutoring and guidance to students outside of class (2 hours/week)
- Assist with grading assignments (1 hour/week)
- Research current Conservation Biology topics and prepare for class (1 hour/week)
Requirements:
- Strong background in Conservation Biology, with prior completion of the ESS 5630 class at AUNE
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with graduate students and build knowledge and skills
- Availability to attend class on Thursdays from 1-4 pm
