As a Product Owner, you will be the liaison between market needs and business delivery, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive success and growth. You will be responsible for managing and prioritizing the product backlog, creating detailed stories, and leading the planning of product release plans. Your expertise and input will be invaluable in informing product strategy and ensuring that our products meet the needs of our customers. Job Summary: The Product Owner will work with the product and engineering teams to ensure the efficient delivery of prioritized backlogs, building a shared understanding with user experience and engineering teams, and motivating, managing, and communicating across the business and within the team. Key Responsibilities: Independently manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team is working on the most impactful projects Create detailed stories and clarify stories as necessary to support development teams Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure successful product releases Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather and validate requirements and feedback Work closely with senior leadership to inform product strategy and provide updates on product progress and milestones Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform product decisions and strategy Ensure products align with user needs, business goals, and technical capabilities Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives Monitor and report on product performance, quality, and usage metrics Requirements: 2+ years of experience working in Agile methodology and a deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle Public sector or public sector software experience desired, with a focus on tax administration, short-term rental, or revenue management solutions Experience using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Figma, as well as utilization tools like Segment, Dovetail, and Amplitude Understanding and experience with technical solutions and components (APIs, Middleware, Services, SQL) Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders Strong written communication skills and client presence Ability to create user journeys, user stories, wireframes, mockups, and basic diagrams to convey ideas Able to juggle multiple competing priorities and persuade, encourage, and motivate others to meet deadlines What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunity to work with a dynamic and talented team Remote work arrangement with a moderate noise level Occasional movement within the office and frequent communication via telephone About Avenu: Avenu is a leading provider of administrative and financial support to government officials, with a wealth of experience and a commitment to innovation.
