Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized and engaging instruction to students with special needs in a virtual classroom setting
- Develop and adapt individualized lesson plans and materials that cater to diverse learning abilities
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators to create and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Utilize innovative teaching techniques and resources to address individual learning styles and challenges
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and track achievements in alignment with IEP goals
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive virtual classroom environment that promotes students’ social and academic growth
Requirements:
- Valid Iowa teaching certification with a special education endorsement
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in teaching students with special needs
- Profound understanding of IEP development, implementation, and assessment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff
- Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to supporting students’ holistic development
